Fabrication and Innovation Programs
“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work. Any failed attempt is just another step forward.”
– Thomas Edison
At Machshava Tova, making dreams come true and realizing that the sky’s the limit, is much more than reducing the digital divide. We must take the extra step, push to the edge of technology, and actively encourage children to be curious, explorative, entrepreneurial, and innovative.
The MAKER movement's contribution to the field of education, the development of 21st century skills, and the advancement of young people fits perfectly with our vision. We are developing the area of Digital Innovation and Production, in parallel to our other focuses.

Courses and Workshops in the Field of Digital Innovation and Production
Machshava Tova operates a variety of training and classes in Digital Innovation and Production, including the development of 21st-century skills, such as creative thinking, independent learning, and problem solving, alongside the experience and development of advanced digital innovation skills. Activities enable participants to experiment in a wide range of technologies, such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and smart electronics, as well as experience in social entrepreneurship and processes of product planning and design.
Community Digital Innovation Lab
In 2018, we established a unique and cutting-edge Community Digital Innovation Lab.
The Lab is a space for advanced technological training in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation and includes 3D printers, laser cutter, CNC machine, Arduino kits, and other advanced technological equipment.
The Lab is located in the Community Council in the disadvantaged neighborhood of Kiryat Menachem in Jerusalem, adjacent to our Community Technology Center. There, it operates in cooperation with local welfare and educational frameworks to improve residents’ well-being.
Machshava Tova’s center in Kiryat Menachem is a neighborhood focal point for innovation and hosts open, drop-in days and enrichment workshops for neighborhood residents. Neighborhood students and residents to use the lab. On open days, anyone can enter and create in the lab. There are also courses and workshops on robotics and digital innovation, in addition to drop-in days, where anyone can create in the lab.
The Community Technology Center and Lab are socially driven, open to neighborhood residents, ready to address their relevant needs.

JLMakers Mobile Innovation Lab
Jerusalem's first Mobile Innovation Lab was launched in early 2020 in collaboration with Machshava Tova, the Jerusalem Foundation and our friend Della Worms, who donated in memory of her husband, Fred, as well as the Jerusalem Municipality.
The mobile lab includes a computer classroom and advanced technological tools, such as 3D printers, laser cutting machine, desktop plotter (cutting device), virtual reality (VR) binoculars, 3D scanner, and robotics and electronic equipment.
The lab enables residents from a wide range of Jerusalem's diverse neighborhoods to be introduced to digital innovation processes and tools, close to home. This is part of our goal to use MAKING, Digital Innovation and Production processes to build and empower communities, in cooperation with local community centers.
The mobile lab offers courses and training at various levels, in the neighborhoods, and ultimately enables community members meaningful opportunities to create digital innovation products.
Through the mobile lab, we make technology, and advanced digital innovation, accessible to all Jerusalem neighborhoods, regardless of their location in the city. In this way we create a discourse of joint activity and creating within the world of digital innovation and production, an effective tool for community development and sustainability, within the community center and throughout the neighborhood.
