Creating a Better Future through Technological Empowerment
Youth at risk are defined as teens living in an unsafe environment that is harmful to them and may jeopardize their wellbeing. Some are on the verge of dropping out of school or have already done so, and are therefore, deprived of the vital exposure to traditional education. As a result, their personal advancement and integration into society as productive members, becomes practically impossible.
Our youth training programs utilize the teen's natural interest in technology to provide them with a unique environment that fosters a sense of success and self-worth. Participants undergo professional training in computer repair and maintenance, app development, Web development and more. A special emphasis is placed on giving back to the community, and the youth can use the skills they acquired to do so in a variety of initiatives in their communities. They gain essential skills and values such as team work, personal responsibility, entrepreneurship, and interpersonal skills, which cultivate a solid ground for their future incorporation in higher education and employment.
This program takes place during the summer and holidays vacations. Machshava Tova's Mobile Computer Units drive around different neighborhoods and offers children and youth an enjoyable experience of technology studies and games, which help them to avoid wandering the streets in an unsafe environment that might expose them to alcohol and drug abuse
